Pancake House B&B

The hosts' warmth and helpfulness made our stay feel more like living there than being anonymous customers. We spent a wonderful week in lovely, sleepy Prachuap. We were backpacking with our two kids, 2y and 4m old, and needed somewhere central but not too busy, with outdoor space where our older boy could play while we spent time at the guesthouse. The pancake house was just right. The room was big and clean, with modern air con, a fan, and very good mattresses. The sea promenade and restaurants are around the corner.

On my cross-country motorcycle ride to southern Thailand, I came across this place and was glad to find a clean, cozy room at a good price. The service was great. The best part was the experience: the Australian owner made a BBQ, and his wife gave me advice that saved my life. “To ride in Thailand you have to have eyes like a pineapple.” Cheers! 🍍

I didn't stay here, but my friends had the night before and rented a scooter, so I rented one too. The owners and staff were lovely and friendly, and I had a great chat with them. They gave me useful tips for the places I was heading to and told me where to catch the minivan, since the stop has moved from where most sources say it is.

Prashuap was my favorite place in Thailand, away from the main tourist trail, and a great spot to recharge after a long trip. There are small food markets, good beaches, friendly locals, and the guesthouse is run by a particularly nice Mrs. The rooms are clean, service is good, and you can get breakfast if you want or rent bikes and motorbikes. I stayed over a week in a nice room with a private bathroom and balcony. I liked the local neighborhood, the quiet street, and how close everything is: the promenade, food, 7-11, and wing-5 Area with ao manao beach. Good value all around. I recommend this small local guesthouse!
