Hotel Royal Azur Thalassa

The food was plentiful and varied at each meal, as you’d expect at an all-inclusive, though there was no ice cream at any sitting. Adults like ice cream too. The one included booking at the Italian restaurant wasn’t impressive for me: limited choice, food that wasn’t very good, and still no ice cream. The hotel covers most all-inclusive expectations, and you can also use the sister hotel next door, where the daily activities happen. There isn’t much to see nearby, but a taxi can take you to the sights. I spent seven nights here. Reception were friendly and helpful from the beginning, and that service continued around the hotel, including at the beach bar. My room was right on the beach, as I wanted, and was clean and well presented, with a bath and shower. It’s quite a walk from there to the restaurant, so it may not suit someone with mobility problems. There are three terrific pools and a large spa, though the spa costs extra. There were plenty of sunbeds, but they get taken quickly. I’d recommend the hotel, provided you do your homework first.

The outdoor area was lovely, with plenty of places to sit, a particularly nice spot by the sea with great chairs, and several kinds of pools. We got upgraded to a gorgeous suite with fantastic views. The hotel feels clean and modern, and the food was lovely with lots of variety. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, from reception to the cleaners. Chokri and Huda were lovely, and there was a man at reception during the day on 9 January whose name I didn’t get. Everyone kept checking that things were okay and really seemed to want us to have a good time. I’ll definitely be back. It deserves more than five stars!

I liked the hotel's location, but I’ll try somewhere else next time I’m in Tunisia. I’ve stayed in many five-star hotels around the world, and their standards were much higher. This place is just okay, so don’t set your expectations too high. It’s nowhere near a five-star hotel. The service was mediocre, and the front desk team seemed unhappy in their jobs and didn’t smile.

Our suite upgrade made an already memorable stay even better. The room was roomy, clean, and cozy, with a stunning beach view. The buffet had plenty of delicious choices, all fresh and well prepared. Haikel and Hana were especially friendly, professional, and charming. Service throughout was excellent: staff were welcoming, attentive, and ready to help with a smile. We had a wonderful vacation at Hotel Azure in Hammamet. It exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to return. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Hammamet.
