The owner helped us recover our phone after we left it in a taxi, and the apartment itself was clean and presentable. It had two bedrooms plus a kitchen and dining room, with a TV with local channels, gas hob, oven, electric kettle, tea cups, bowls, plates, spoons, fridge, slippers, washing-up liquid, cleaning cloths, washing machine, and Wi-Fi. The bathroom came with towels, body wash, shampoo, and hand wash. Ask the owner to show you how to use the washing machine, it took us a while to figure it out. Getting there can be confusing. Search for Alper Bey Homes on Google Maps, since the building has a different signboard and isn't named Alper Bey Homes. The area isn't posh, but the locals were kind and ready to help, so don't be put off by the surroundings. We arrived well before check-in, and the owner wasn't at the office. A shopkeeper across the road called him for us. The apartment wasn't ready, but we could wait in the office while it was cleaned, and we got the key within 30 minutes of arriving. The old bazaar was a ten-minute walk away. A local MiGros, like Tesco, was five minutes away, with convenience stores across the road and the high street two minutes away. I always find Turkish people very friendly and kind. Taxis all use meters. A 20-minute, 15km trip cost 180lira in traffic, and a 15-minute trip cost 140lira with light traffic.
