Breakfast by the pool each morning was a lovely way to start the day, with great coffee and plenty of local Turkish dishes. Char Me is right in the lively Old Town, where the winding narrow streets follow the old Roman city and make you feel transported back in time. We spent a lovely week there in October, and thanks to Nurcan and her family and the whole team, it became a memorable holiday. In all our years of travelling, we've rarely met such a friendly and helpful group.

The staff were all friendly and spoke good English, German, and Russian. Morning service was good, and our room was always very clean. The breakfast was okay, but the same basic Turkish breakfast every day. The bed was fine, though the pillows weren't comfortable, and the shower head needed replacing about six months ago. The room was small and the place a bit run down. After heavy rain one night, the shower drain made the room smell of sewage for a couple of days. The blinds didn't block the light, so it was hard to sleep well. The pool pump hummed constantly during our stay, making it hard to relax by the pool or at breakfast. On the one day it wasn't running, the courtyard was bliss. Their tourist goods were also extortionately priced compared with a shop less than 100 metres away. The hostel next door was often noisy late into the night, and the mosque on the other side called to prayer at sunrise every morning. The hotel can't control that, but the location wasn't relaxing. It looks very attractive, but it's noisy and not a restful place.

We were well looked after by the very kind and helpful hosts during our eight nights here. The rooms, service, and buffet breakfast were excellent. It's a lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic old town location. We highly recommend it and hope to come back soon.

At Char Me, they treat you like family. It's right in the heart of the Old City, with shops, restaurants, and bars all around after a 50-metre walk in any direction. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well appointed, there's a lovely swimming pool and plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax. The breakfast buffet is served by the pool, with local breads, cheeses, olives, tomatoes, peppers, different fruits, and drinks.
