Hotel Karyatit Kaleiçi

The location in the old town couldn't be better, and breakfast was tasty. The woman cooking it was a sweetheart. I stayed three nights in a Standard Single Room with a double bed, and it suited me well. The recently renovated bathroom was small but clean, with everything I needed: towels, a hairdryer, shampoo, slippers, hot water, and AC. There was no housekeeping between days. The staff were very nice, and I'd stay again 😊

The owner and staff are great, and the hotel sits somewhere quiet while still being close to everything. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around, with something for everyone. If you like the bustle of a big city, this place should suit you.

The staff were very friendly, and the local cat was adorable. Breakfast was basic but filling. It's peaceful when there aren't kids nearby, and the city is just on the next street. The rooms are small and old, and the walls and windows let in nearly every sound. Nearby bars make evenings noisy, and you can hear the Turkish prayers each day from the mosque close by. We also had a few nights without electricity, so the AC stopped and the room got really hot. There's no hairdryer, so bring your own. For the price it's okay, though I had a hard time sleeping properly.

The hotel is in a good area, with local attractions easy to reach. Still, the reception was often unattended, so checking in and getting in touch with staff was difficult. Breakfast was fine, though nothing special. The shower water was only hot and uncomfortably so, while the pool had restricted hours and closed by late afternoon.
