Linda Expo Palace

The staff at Linda Expo Hotel were all kind and helpful, and breakfast was tasty. A special thanks to Ms. Parihan, who kindly made fried eggs for us even though they weren’t available at the time. We really appreciated the hospitality. The hotel was comfortable and we had a great stay.

Everything was close by, which was one of the best things about the location: a huge mall was a five-minute walk, and the old town about fifteen minutes away. We stayed one night and everything was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room had what we needed, and the nightly price was really good. Our flight was in the evening, so although checkout was at noon, reception stored our luggage for free for the day. Very satisfied 😇

I was grateful when they offered me another room for two hours so I could shower and get sorted after the flooding. I was writing this review at the hotel when a loud knock woke me in the morning. My room was flooded, and water seemed to be coming through the ceiling in one spot. I could hear people talking as if they were in my room, and I was too scared to use the bathroom in case more water came through. For £13 a night, it’s decent in some ways: the WiFi works well, the location is good, and the bedside cabinet and wardrobe are handy. It’s a ten-minute walk to a bus stop with a direct airport bus. But there were big black marks on the walls and missed paint, and the shower dripped all night from when I first arrived. There’s no ventilation in the WC and it smells unpleasant. A huge window was wide open when I arrived, which didn’t feel safe as a woman traveling alone. The receptionist seemed robotic, didn’t help with my bags or show me where to go, and just handed me a room card with the number on it before saying goodnight. That didn’t affect my sleep, but it was my experience.

The one bright spot was the men at the check-in desk, who were friendly and spoke English. Elsewhere, staff struggled to understand English, and even when we spoke their language they didn’t understand us. The room was dark and dirty, with broken things and items that didn’t work properly. There was no toilet roll, no working fridge, and no clean towels. Breakfast was terrible, with watermelon the best part. I felt my human rights had been violated. Living conditions might be better in Guantanamo Bay. Quite possibly one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Avoid it.
