Mene City Hotel

The location was the only good part. I stayed a week and the towels were replaced only three times. Tissues and coffee were replenished twice in the whole stay, and not every day. There was no housekeeping, no cleaning or fresh bed sheets, and the breakfast choices were very limited.

The reception team were wonderful, especially Sardar and the short-haired woman, and the breakfast staff were great too. The hotel is centrally located, around a 20-minute walk from the old town and mermeli beach. But the rooms need a serious refurbishment. The bathtub drain was broken and had been glued back together, so it didn’t work. There was no shampoo or conditioner, and the bedding was poor, just a thin cover instead of a duvet, with the AC right above the bed.

The parking is the one real problem. Otherwise, things are reasonable, and with a bit more effort this could be called a four-star hotel.

The staff were friendly, the cleaner was lovely and efficient, and the lift worked well. My room had a double bed and a single, with plenty of space, and it was clean with hot water. The fridge and air con both worked properly. Breakfast was good, all cold items: vegetables, egg salad, bread, croissant, filter coffee and tea. Fresh water and towels came to the room daily. I enjoyed swimming in the morning, since the pool gets sun until 1pm. No complaints.
