Lavender Hotel

The shower in the second room drained so slowly that water sat there for five to ten minutes, which made even a quick wash frustrating. That room was a little better, but still had problems. I was here for one night during a layover in Istanbul, and the hotel didn’t live up to the online photos and description. The first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, the mattress was so uncomfortable I could feel the metal springs, and the air conditioning didn’t work. When I reported it, I was told to wait a few hours, but nothing changed until I was moved around 11 or 12 o’clock that day. The hotel is budget-friendly and may be a basic place to sleep, but the room condition, comfort and maintenance issues made the stay unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend it, even for a short layover. There are better nearby options at a similar price.

There were two holes in the wall behind the tables beside the bed. The shower was broken and leaked so much water from the joint that most of it was lost. No maintenance at all.

The room I had was pretty dirty, and cleanliness is where this hotel needs to improve. Still, the beds were really nice and the furnishings in general were good. I think it’s a good hotel overall, definitely better than the one I had in Saudi.
