We had to find somewhere else to stay urgently, which brought extra costs and a lot of distress. The hotel offered no help or alternative place to go, and showed no responsibility for what happened. My mother was recovering from an operation, and after we checked in the staff became hostile for no valid reason and forced us out. They handled our belongings themselves and tried to take my phone while I was recording the situation. We were left outside without an explanation or any concern for our safety or health. This was frightening and completely unacceptable, especially for guests in a vulnerable situation. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The place felt unsafe and unprofessional, and was nothing like its listing. I strongly warn other travelers to avoid it.

Selçuk, the manager, made me feel at home as soon as we met. We had lots of good chats about Turkey and life over tea, and I hope to stay here again when I'm back in Istanbul. I spent two weeks here working online. The room was comfortable and warm through the cold Istanbul weather, and the WiFi was strong.

The bathroom and shower water was slow and cold, which was the main letdown. The place was clean enough, but breakfast or dinner didn't seem worth getting up for. Türkiye is getting expensive, like everywhere. Angel Gardens is in a good central spot, though the street is steep and narrow. It's about a 15-minute walk to the metro and bazaar, and 35-45 minutes to the Blue Mosque, or you can take the metro.

The service was the worst. Don't go here. The air conditioner didn't work, there was no hot water, and the teapot was rusty.

The breakfast was poor, with everything seeming to be from the previous day, eggs and bread included. There was no coffee machine, just instant coffee and tea. The pictures on Google Maps and Booking should be updated because the place looks nothing like them in real life. The room's humidity made all of us sick during our stay. The windows don't open, there's no heating, and there are big damp marks on the ceiling and mold on the walls. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it. The Turkish family managing the hotel didn't seem to have the skills to run one, and everything felt mediocre.
