Babel Park Hotel

We had a roomy bedroom and bathroom, and the restaurant and bar had a lovely feel to them. The welcome was warm from the start, especially from the staff. Thanks, Ozkan, for being so kind. We'd definitely return.

We booked online for one night and paid $81 at the property. There were four adults in our family, sharing one room with two queen beds. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the AC, TV, and small fridge all worked well. The receptionist was friendly and quickly brought me a thin extra mattress and a blanket when I asked. For what we paid, it was fair.

The staff were nice, especially the man on the night shift, and the room itself was a decent size. But during my 10 days there, hot water worked for just one day. They didn't clean daily as they were supposed to, and the bathroom had mold. I even had to ask for shampoo. For the same money, or less, you could rent an entire apartment. I don't know why they charge in $$, and if zero stars were possible, I'd give that. Please avoid it if you can.

We came around 9pm because we'd heard the bar was LGBT friendly and wanted to hear the Arabian music. The place was dark when we arrived, though we were told it was open. Service took a while; after we got beers, more people gradually showed up. The owner didn't smile or make us feel welcome, and he put snacks on everyone's table except ours. The main singer was good, but the amateurs who got up afterward were awful. Maybe it's fine for locals, but as a foreigner, I wouldn't make the trek. Bar review only**
