Bachos Hotel Istanbul

The location is the one good point, close to the Blue Mosque, but it wasn't worth the hassle. The place was unhygienic, with no room service, yet they expected full payment. Breakfast was very lacking, and the hotel looked nothing like the photos. There was no customer service, either. Staff couldn't work the card machine and demanded cash. Avoid it.

The receptionist was a very sweet woman and helped us a lot during our two-day stay. The room was average in size, and the larger toilet was decent. It might look unclean to some people, but I found it much better than the four-star hotel I'd stayed in before.

I booked through booking and found dirty socks, blood, mold, insects, and hair in the room. They showed me several others, but every one had the same problems, so I left. They even showed me screenshots saying they'd accept a free cancellation, but Booking later told me the owner hadn't agreed to cancel. It felt like a scam, as if they were waiting for me to leave the country so they could keep money I'd worked hard to earn. Stay away.

The price felt low for what we got, and the staff were always kind and helpful. Our room was warm after long days walking in the cold, and although it wasn't very big, it had what we needed, including a fridge, towels, toilet paper, soap, and shampoo. They cleaned it often. Breakfast was filling enough, and we could go later instead of getting up early. The hotel is well placed near both the historic center and the sea. Our room was by reception, so we sometimes heard noise from there, but it didn't bother us much. You need to enter your card number before arrival, though payment at the hotel is in cash.
