Crowned Hotel

You can walk to mosques, museums, and other sights from this hotel in the middle of the tourist area, which also saves taxi money. Staff were friendly and respectful, and things ran smoothly. The cleaning needs more attention, though: the supposedly fresh sheets we got each day were stained, and the towels needed another wash. Breakfast choices and hygiene could be better too. One employee said the hotel had only opened a few months earlier, so they’re still learning. With more care around cleanliness and breakfast, it could be a nice place to stay.

We were happy with our stay in June. The room was small, but had everything we needed. For the price, it’s an ideal option.

The breakfast was below average, and served somewhere else in a very cramped space. We were given a ground-floor room right by reception, and couldn’t sleep because we heard people at reception and on the street, including music, talking, and motorbikes. The hotel isn’t soundproof as claimed on Booking. The receptionist wasn’t welcoming or friendly and didn’t help. It’s overrated and not clean at all.

The street was very noisy, and the room had dirty, undersized sheets and towels with toothpaste on them. The beds were very small, max 1.5m. The room was never cleaned. The air vent was loud and broken, the door wouldn’t lock, the shower drain was missing so the floor pooled after a minute, and the showerhead was disgusting. The mirror was broken too. We waited three days for the missing bed sheets, and the receptionist was unresponsive and unhelpful. The manager was unfriendly and got very aggressive when we weren’t satisfied. Breakfast was 100m away at one of their partners, something they didn’t specify. They said their terminal wasn’t functioning and forced us to pay cash, leaving the extra fee for us. I have video of the manager frightening us when I refused to pay cash. VERY BAD hotel, run away. They do pay for good reviews.
