Dualis Hotel

The location was okay, and the old city is about a 10-minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophie. Food options nearby were pretty dire, so I'd suggest staying on the Asian side instead, where food is better and cheaper, then taking the metro into the old town. We were a family of six and appreciated the parking, since there is little to none in the old city. The arrival service was very good, and we were able to leave our bags at the hotel when we got there early. But the room was awful and honestly unliveable. It was infested with ants behind the beds and on the floor. We told the owner and got no response. One double room couldn't be used because the ants were everywhere, so five of us had to sleep in one room. The room was advertised for six, but the dining table only fit two people. The kitchen was tiny, the AC didn't work in one bedroom, and stale water in the kettle made the room stink. The bathroom was small and poorly maintained, with rust everywhere and a loose toilet seat. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

They checked us in right away even though we arrived at 1 a.m. My dad and I spent three nights there in September, and it was a quiet, pleasant place. We could borrow whatever dishes we wanted from the kitchen, and they cleaned the room every morning. It all felt as good as home. Thanks to everyone :)

When we finally got inside, the place smelled terrible, was filthy, and had broken lights. I had to use my phone to see where we were going. We had waited outside in a bad neighborhood for hours because nobody was there to check us in. Drunk, shirtless men stood by the door, staring at my wife and kids and snickering. When I asked for a refund, the owner made Anti-American comments. His "staff person" first told me I could get a refund and switch to a better hotel, but then he went on a rant about Americans and denied it. Avoid this place!

The rooms were fine, though they could be better. It's a fair place to stay depending on what you need. We enjoyed our visit, the location was good, and the staff were helpful whenever we needed something.
