The hotel itself is good, but I found the manager and staff deceptive. I asked about booking ahead and was told to pay in advance, so I sent the payment from my bank account for the five days we had agreed on. Right after that, the receptionist said the 4,000 TL covered four days. I told him we had agreed on five. After we argued for a while, he said their prices started at 1,500 TL a night and that he could give me a special rate of 1,300 TL. It felt like he had changed what was said twice. They still haven’t processed the refund. At first they promised it, then said their bank couldn’t see it, and now they aren’t responding. They greeted me with Salam and spoke kindly, but in my experience they deceived me, lied, and changed their story.
The staff were genuinely courteous and helpful throughout our three-night city trip. We stayed on the top floor, but the compact lift meant that wasn’t a problem. Our room was clean and pleasant, with the towels and beds taken care of daily. Tea and coffee were replenished each day too. There was a small stove and sink, plus a TV that worked and had an international news channel. The bathroom was compact, modern, clean, and had a surprisingly powerful adjustable shower. For a three-star hotel, the amenities were standard but more than adequate. I’d absolutely stay at Wide Suite Taksim again.
Really enjoyed staying at WIDE SUITES TAKSIM. The rooms were modern and spotless, the staff were so friendly, and Taksim Square is nearby. I’d happily come back when I’m in Istanbul.
For the price, this was very good accommodation. The furniture wasn’t especially new, but that’s understandable in this price range. The shower, fridge, and air conditioning all worked well. The room Wi-Fi may be unreliable if you need a steady connection for work, though that seems to be a common issue in Istanbul. The staff were wonderful when we ran into a problem with the booking prepayment and helped us find a solution. We arrived early in the morning, left our luggage at reception, and went to see the city. They messaged us when the room was ready. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the Havas airport bus, and close to Taxim and Istiklal, the main shopping street.
