The best part was the view of the Golden Horn, and the receptionist was cooperative and helpful. She was the only good thing about the place. The building was very old, the entrance was narrow and beside a dumpster, and the surrounding area was dim. Water from the nearby car wash left the aisle flooded almost all the time. The stairs were narrow and steep, and we fell on a broken step. That kind of hazard shouldn't be acceptable. There was also a stinky smell at the entrance that didn't reach anywhere else. For the price, the apartment's poor upkeep was shocking. Its door handle was broken, so it could only be opened with a key, and only one person could have the key at a time, which was inconvenient for an apartment that usually houses four or five people. Most electrical sockets were broken or hanging dangerously out of place. Some walls looked more like a cave than a hotel apartment, with peeling paint and burn marks. The burns were also on the table and kitchen countertop. The toilet leaked, and one air conditioner barely put out any air, wheezed, and dripped water. The carpet looked like it hadn't been washed since the Ottoman Empire ruled Turkey. The terrace view was lovely, but we couldn't use it with kids because the fence was extremely short. The kettle was rusty, broken, and unusable. I got stuck in the bathroom when its door handle gave out too. The dishes and silverware were dirty, and some bedsheets had turned yellow. The safe didn't work, so we had to carry our valuables around. I looked into the neighboring room and could barely see the astonished family inside because there was so little sunlight. There was no phone line between rooms or to reception. Some bulbs were out or missing, and the Wi-Fi was so slow we couldn't play a video. It was only good for receiving messages. Then we were asked to leave a good rating. We attached photos as well.
