My favorite thing was the view from our balcony. We had a few room issues at the start, but the receptionist was very kind and made sure we were happy with everything. Service was really good, and the cleaner did a thorough job.

The location in the Istanbul Taksim, Galata, and Beyoglu area is one of the best, close to great cafes and historical places. It's a family-owned hotel with lovely people who'll help you with everything. You'll experience the best Turkish hospitality.

We booked a room before arriving, but when we got there the receptionist said the hotel was full. We agreed to stay at a nearby hotel instead, then the next day they moved our things to Galata34 without asking us. The room had no remote for the air conditioner or hair dryer, and the reception was nearly always empty. We called, with no answer, and went downstairs to find nobody. We eventually found the receptionist having tea in a nearby cafe. He finally gave us an air conditioner remote, but it didn't cool the room. He also said they didn't have a hair dryer. We needed bed clothes, and he promised to bring some but never did. The worst hotel experience for me. I wouldn't give it any stars, really, it's a zero.

I haven't stayed at the hotel, but I tried the Loukoum and tea at its cafe. The owners are very sweet and work as a family. The prices are fair, and the experience is worth coming back for. I recommend it.
