Grand Vatan Hotel

The bathroom had mold, the rooms were dirty, and breakfast was so bad we skipped it. Luckily, there’s a good bakery nearby. We asked for blankets but didn’t get them at first. One room had none, so we used blankets from the car; the ones brought the next day weren’t fully dry. Parking was also limited, and we had to pay for the underground lot next to the hotel. They should be clear that there are only seven spaces, and clean the bathrooms and use mattress protectors. I was on a short trip with friends, and I won’t let anyone in our group book here again. We’ve visited Turkey many times and always had good hotels, clean rooms, and great food. Having such a terrible stay in the capital was awful. I’m not going back, and I’ll make sure my friends and family know what this place was like. It needs a full renovation.

Getting around was easy, with convenient public transport and Istanbul’s sights close by. I also really liked the cozy, clean room and the delicious breakfast at Grand Vatan Hotel. I’d recommend it.

We spent five nights here and were lucky to get the largest room. It was clean and roomy, and the staff were friendly. The location is handy, right opposite the Aksaray train and Havaist bus station, with other bus stops nearby for getting around Istanbul. There are also several restaurants around, especially places serving Middle Eastern food. The bathroom had mold, though, which was a major downside.
