Boutique Saint Sophia Hotel

My corner room had windows on two sides and a good view of the street. The only noise was from passing trams, which was expected. It was clean and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed and USB charging points. The bedside clock was the one thing I couldn’t reset. At breakfast, we got a warm welcome and there was plenty of typical Turkish food to choose from. I picked this place partly because I needed easy access to a couple of locations for a football match, and I’m convinced I chose well. The staff were welcoming and took time to explain useful things about the hotel and room. They also provided complimentary chilled water, and nothing felt like too much trouble. The reviews I’d read gave me confidence, and the stay lived up to them. It’s not flashy or sophisticated, just a wonderful hotel in the heart of the tourist area. I’d really recommend staying here.

The room and the view were lovely, and the location couldn’t be better. Everyone was attentive and professional, especially Omer, who was so helpful. From the welcome tea right through to our departure, the whole experience was perfect. Breakfast and everything else felt 10 star.

For a first trip to Istanbul, this was a great place to stay. The main tourist sights on the European side are nearby, there are transit stops for Eminonu, North Istanbul, and the Asian side by ferry, and plenty of restaurants and modern cafes around. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a view of the Hagia Sofia, which was basically next door. The staff were really nice and accommodating. Enes made things easy by booking restaurants and arranging other services for us. There’s also a great restaurant and bar downstairs. It’s hard to imagine a better mix of location, comfort, and helpful staff if you want to walk to many major sites. We’ll come again.

Hotel Saint Sophia felt like a safe haven in a city where tourist traps can be common. We never felt overcharged or uncomfortable, just grateful for the warm, professional service. Mert was genuinely kind, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed from the moment we arrived. We only stayed one night in Sultanahmet, but the hotel exceeded all our expectations. It’s steps from the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, yet quiet enough to unwind after a day exploring. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. It’s rare to find hospitality like this even at high-end hotels. We highly recommend Hotel Saint Sophia and Mert's hospitality, and can’t wait to return for a longer stay.
