La Garden Hotel

The receptionist was helpful and very good, and the location was okay. Cleanliness, though, was practically nonexistent. There was dust and dirt throughout, including on the curtains, refrigerator, toilet, bedside tables, and in the corridors. The internet connection wasn’t good, and they turned off the air conditioning in the middle of the night even though it was hot, around 25-30 degrees. They also didn’t change the sheets.

This is a very low-budget hotel, and I wouldn’t want to do more than sleep here. Even that wasn’t great. The room was big, but it wasn’t clean enough: dirty glasses on the table, black mold in the shower, and no soap. The cleaning staff came straight into rooms without checking whether anyone was inside. The TV has 500 channels, all in Turkish. The WiFi was slower than dial-up and not worth the frustration. Breakfast was really bad, a shame for Turkish culture, so you’re better off skipping it. I forgot to take pictures, so you’ll have to take my word for it.

There were no curtains in the room, and the shower was clogged. The staff were extremely rude and wouldn’t move me to another room.

I’ve stayed at this hotel more than 8 to 10 times, but the new management and a man named Ahmed made this a terrible experience. I’d booked a room for two people. When my wife arrived at midnight, he wouldn’t let us in unless I paid another 80TL. He denied that I’d booked for two and demanded extra money, much more than the usual charge for two people. Since it was 2:00 a.m., he told me to leave if I didn’t pay. Breakfast took 30 minutes to arrive and was just one plate with an egg, four olives, and cheese.
