My Home Sultanahmet Hotel

The breakfast was limited and unappetizing, and service there was slow and unfriendly. During the stay I had to ask several times for basic necessities, while the staff continued to be rude and unhelpful. At check-in they seemed more focused on their own matters than on guests. The room was noisy, with thin walls that let sounds from next door through. Furniture was outdated, the windows felt fragile, and the whole place seemed neglected. The facilities were below average, and some amenities listed on the website were either missing or didn’t work properly. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend it or consider returning unless they make significant improvements.

They charged us for a shower door that broke while I was bathing, even though I wasn’t at fault. Their policy of charging guests for damage regardless of who caused it is concerning, especially with fragile windows and shower doors in the small rooms. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families with babies because of the safety concerns. I’ve stayed in hotels in many countries, but this was the worst experience of my life. The reception staff were rude and uncooperative, and often made fun of us when we asked for help or information. Cheating customers won’t help the hotel grow or protect its reputation.

After a long journey with my family and children, we arrived to find the hotel in terrible condition. The owner wasn’t friendly and just told us to collect our luggage and leave. The room was awful, and sorting out the problem took about five hours on the road. The online pictures looked very nice, but I wouldn’t rely on them. Anyone thinking of booking should visit in person first. The owner behaved very badly, and I don’t recommend staying there.

The only reasons I gave two stars were the location, the heating, which worked well for cold days, and the price, which was close to what the place was worth. I’d never recommend it to a friend. The entrance smelled disgusting, like walking into a toilet. The bedroom walls were so thin we woke up hearing other people’s footsteps. The wardrobe was small and wasn’t properly fixed to the wall. Breakfast came on prison-style plates, with set choices and poor-quality food. Staff seemed unwilling to talk to guests after working such long hours. The place was poorly cleaned, and breakfast on the rooftop was a bit disgusting. The towels were worn out from constant use and need replacing.
