The rooftop breakfast was priceless, and the hostel’s little library had a really useful guide. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and their tips were just as helpful. I even spent a couple of hours chatting over tea with one of the receptionists. For the same price, I chose a double room at Rapunzel Hostel over a sea-view apartment on the waterfront, and I’d make that choice again. Great value for money, highly recommended.

The rooftop terrace has a great view across Istanbul, and the breakfast was very good. It’s a lovely hostel in an old tower, with helpful staff. So far, it’s the best hostel I’ve stayed in.

I’ve already experienced this cozy little dream, along with plenty of other Rapunzel guests. The hostel is in the Galata neighborhood, where the area stays lively late at night and you can grab a cold drink in the summer. From the terrace, you can see palaces, the Marmara sea, and Galata’s history. The three young owners are lovely, friendly, a little crazy, and full of fun. They love their music, artistic expression, and BBQ. They’re Istanbullites who know every corner and can point you to good transport options. It’s best to see the place and judge for yourself.

For a fair price, this is a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay. I was only there for one night and arrived very late, trying to keep quiet, but the hostel seemed to make noise at every turn. The wooden stairs creaked, my room door was hard to open, and the wooden floor sounded with every step. My bed squeaked too, though that may just have been bad luck, since the other beds in the room didn’t make noise when I checked.
