Sahinler Hotel

I travel from the U.S.A to Türkiye often, but this hotel gave me a very bad experience. We arrived exhausted after a long trip and asked for a good room where we could relax. Instead, the room we got was disgusting and felt like a room for sick people. We paid a good amount, but the service was poor. Construction noise was so loud that we couldn’t sleep or rest. I went downstairs to borrow an iron to steam my clothes, only to be told the whole hotel had just one. We later had one cup of tea and a salad, and the bill came to $30. The prices felt insane, like being in Dubai. For that price there are much better hotels nearby. Please look into the hotel and its services before going. Thanks for reading, and please be careful.

The location is very good, close to trams and public transport. Breakfast was nice, with enough to choose from and as much as you wanted. Checkout is allowed until 12:00 midday, and there’s space to leave luggage. Staff seemed okay, though I didn’t interact with them much. The main issue was the shower. The water sometimes became extremely hot, enough to burn your skin, so be careful. Water pressure was low, making showers take longer, and the shower area was cramped. Housekeeping didn’t change the towels or replenish shower gel and shampoo. The fridge is quite old and should be replaced. The aircon is old but works well. The phone charging plug is far from the bed, which is inconvenient. You can find better deals for this price. The choice is yours.

Very tasty breakfast, and it’s free. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. The location is great for tourists, near Istanbul University and tram stations. There’s also a money exchange with a good rate just a two-minute walk away.

Our group of 54, adults and children of all ages, chose Hotel Sahinler for its convenient location, good prices, available rooms, and especially the excellent communication with Mr. Cihan, the hotel manager, and later the whole staff. We felt comfortable there, even though it may not suit people with very high expectations. We had double, triple, and family rooms. Some were smaller and some more spacious, but all were comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. The hotel was clean, towels were changed daily, and we valued having a ground floor social space where everyone could gather. Breakfast was adequate, and the staff were extremely kind and attentive to our needs. Thanks for everything, and apologies for any inconvenience we may have caused. We’ll choose Hotel Sahinler again when we return to Istanbul.
