Sanat Hotel Pera

Street noise went on constantly and was so loud that getting a decent night's sleep was almost impossible. The room itself was tiny, and despite specifically asking for a queen bed, I got two separate singles that couldn't even be pushed together. It felt neglected: worn walls, loose faucets, very uncomfortable beds and pillows, and no proper ventilation, which made the room unpleasant to stay in. Even the cups were dirty. Housekeeping hardly came, and I had to ask twice. The corridors were dark at night with no proper lighting. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was well below expectations. It felt more like a poorly maintained hostel than a hotel, and wasn't worth the price or hassle. I wouldn't recommend it.

I was in town for five nights for a Marilyn Manson concert. The hotel is on the main street in the new town, though the area itself is pretty quiet. My room was clean and comfortable, with strong shower pressure, and breakfast was delicious. Most of all, I really liked the hotel's dark atmosphere.

The staff were great and friendly, but the hotel itself wasn't for us. We were first given a dirty, half-broken room, and I don't know why we were assigned it. The receptionist couldn't move us because the hotel was full that night. There was no blanket on the bed, so I asked for one and got a smelly, used, bleached one. The room also had a suffocating mouldy smell, marked toiletries, and a broken showerhead holder. It was a total disaster. The receptionist asked us to stay the night and promised a room change. The next room was decent, though still not the best. I wouldn't call it the best stay.

The receptionists were the best part, along with the breakfast. Everyone was friendly, including the chefs and cleaners, and the breakfast was alright, if not the best. The rest of the stay wasn't great. The floor was dusty, and the bedcover and blanket were dirty and smelled bad. The toilet hairdryer was broken, and the AC and heating didn't work properly and had a mouldy smell. Under the sink there were exposed wires and pipes. The pictures don't really match what you get.
