Shining Star Hotel

We spent two nights here with the family. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were welcoming. Breakfast was okay, with limited choices, but it was included in the price and free. The rooms were a good size, the location was good, and the service was really nice, so I’d still recommend the hotel. The problem was the air conditioning. It was set to heating throughout the building, and since it was centrally controlled, staff said they’d have to switch the whole building to cooling. We were on a higher floor and got quite hot during the day. They suggested opening the windows, but outside noise and flies made that difficult. The heat really affected what otherwise could have been an amazing stay. They need to sort out the AC. Keep up the good work!

There’s a glass floor in the lobby and breakfast room/lounge bar, so you can see the 2,000-year-old Roman bath excavations below. Such a unique thing to walk over. The location was handy for everything, and the Grand Bazaar was just a short walk away. Breakfast had a good range of hot and cold food and ran from 7:30 to 10:30, which was a bonus. We stayed for two nights, and the beds were comfortable, with duvets of a decent weight. The bathrooms were excellent, with roomy showers and good water pressure. The air conditioning and heating were welcome too. We had a wonderful stay, and the helpful, friendly staff made it easy to recommend the Hotel.

The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a great three-night stay. The service was impeccable. When our driver went to the wrong hotel on our last day, Mr Surha at the front desk helped us get in touch with him. He made sure we got into the right car and helped with our luggage. He was welcoming when we first arrived, and helpful and hospitable throughout.

It was easy to book directly on their website while I was in another country, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. The location is great, with a short walk to everything, including local transport. The rooms were clean, with hardwood floors. Breakfast is the one small drawback: not much choice, and it’s the same every day. Still, great value for the money.
