As first-time visitors to Istanbul, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The hotel sits right in the middle of the main sights, and it was easy to get around by tram, metro or bus, or catch a ferry to the Asian side. There are lots of places to eat nearby. We especially liked Ortaklar Kebap Lahmacun around the corner, and Ziya Baba Türk Mutfağı was worth the short walk for authentic, delicious food at a very reasonable price. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, and they were cleaned daily. They even had a lovely fresh scent that I wish I could bottle. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the sweet elderly housekeeping lady deserves a special mention. Breakfast on the rooftop was a highlight, both for the view and the warmth of the manager and his team. We’re already planning to return.

The rooftop breakfast had plenty of variety, and the river and mosque views from our upgraded room were incredible. We even watched the sunrise. We started in a room with its own balcony and a nice view, then moved to one with a walk-in shower so my mom would be more comfortable with her lower back issue. The staff were so kind and made those arrangements for her. My family joined me on the trip, and we all loved how clean and beautiful the hotel was, with lots of natural light. It’s also handily close to sightseeing spots, markets, the bazaar, and restaurants. I’d recommend staying here, and if I come back to Istanbul, I wouldn’t look anywhere else.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel was clean and convenient. Its location made it easy to explore the nearby sights and history. I arrived at 9:30 in the morning, and getting a room before 3 without paying extra is unusual these days. They let me check in early at no charge and even included breakfast, which was a lovely surprise. The head of reception greeted me warmly, and the team kept up that friendly, attentive service throughout my one night. Those small gestures made a real difference. Easy 10/10 for service. I’d recommend the place and would happily return.

The room was clean, the amenities were excellent, and breakfast had lots of delicious choices. The hotel is in a perfect spot, with beautiful sea views and so much within a short walk: Blue Masjid and Higha Sofia Masjid, the grand bazar, shops, restaurants, and the sea. I had a fantastic stay from 19/03 to 22/03/2026 and will definitely come back.

We’ve stayed at Sultanhan Hotel three times now, and the location keeps working so well for us. You can walk to the main tourist attractions or catch the tram. We also love the buffet and restaurant food, along with the classic old-fashioned decor that feels straight out of Casablanca. The customer service has been excellent, from the concierge to the cleaning ladies. Engin especially went out of his way to make sure we were happy. It suits families and romantic getaways alike.
