Green Parrot Hotel

The location was just right for nearby museums, historic spots and shopping, and I’d happily return to Parrot hotel. I was looking for a pleasant, affordable place near Istanbul’s shopping area and found this charming boutique hotel. Its modern design still felt warm and authentic. My room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. I’d definitely recommend it.

The room had visible mold in the shower grout, and the toilet seat was completely loose when we arrived. It wasn’t fixed until the second night. With a small child, these are things you notice and expect to be taken care of before check-in. Breakfast was another small frustration: there was no simit or tea available, and neither was replenished. We spent four nights here as a family with our 2.5-year-old daughter, hoping she could rest after long days out. That didn’t work. From the first night, a large group on our floor kept several doors open, talked loudly in the hallway, and had children running through the corridor and stairwell, often until 01:00-02:00 AM on multiple nights. Our daughter couldn’t settle, bedtime became hard, and her sleep was broken. We called reception, explained what was happening and waited. The staff were friendly and listened, but nothing changed. After another disturbed night with no intervention, I felt I had to step in, which led to a verbal confrontation with other guests. Parents shouldn’t have to manage hallway behaviour themselves; this could have been prevented with active hotel management. If you’re travelling without children and mainly need a central location, it may be manageable. For a family with a young child who needs rest, hygiene and calm, I don’t think it’s suitable right now. The price doesn’t match the level of care, and we’d choose somewhere else next time.

I had a wonderful time here. It’s a small, peaceful hotel with all the essentials, in a great location with plenty of sights nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, so as a tourist I found it a perfect place to stay.

Green Parrot Hotel made exploring Istanbul easy: it’s close to major attractions, simple to get around from, and surrounded by good food and transport. The hotel was exceptionally clean, with surprisingly spacious rooms for the city. Everything felt modern and thoughtfully designed, from the comfortable beds to the stylish décor. The bathrooms were spotless, contemporary and well equipped. Breakfast had fresh variety that kept me going, and the amenities made it easy to relax after sightseeing. I highly recommend Green Parrot Hotel for its location, clean modern rooms, great service and hospitality.
