The Biancho Hotel Pera

The room we eventually moved into had a gap between the window and frame, so a strong draft came through. The air conditioning worked the first night there, but failed the next day and for the two days after. It was downstairs in the same separate building, still not in the hotel. We got sick from the cold. At first, our room was in a separate building that didn’t look like a hotel or like the room in the pictures. The heating didn’t work and it was extremely cold. Reception said the air conditioning was broken, apologized, and promised a heater and a move to a hotel room in the morning. We had to ask several times for the heater, and got nothing until after 1 a.m., when they brought an outdoor heater. It seemed like a serious fire risk, so we turned it off quickly. The next day we left our luggage at reception as instructed and went for a walk. Berke, a receptionist, then told us there were no other rooms available and apologized, despite the earlier promise. He said we could leave if we wanted, since there was no other solution. The staff deny saying or promising anything and just tell us to “sit.” Breakfast was repetitive and not fresh. I suffered a lot on this trip because of the hotel, and absolutely wouldn’t recommend it.

Galata tower and istiklal street are very close, and the room prices are moderately reasonable. The staff were friendly, helpful, and hospitable. Room service and housekeeping were great, and the rooms had good views, though they weren’t very big views. Breakfast was acceptable quality but could be better. There was no Shatafa / water PERINEAL spray in the toilets, which matters to Muslim and Arab guests. WIFI worked very fast in some rooms and corridors, but couldn’t be reached inside some other rooms.

We stayed 3 nights (25/12/2025-28/12/2025), and the room wasn’t cleaned once despite repeated reminders to reception. The heating failed at night in very cold weather, so we had to sleep in the cold. We asked reception and the manager for help, even for a small heater or fan, but were told nothing could be done. I tried several times to reach the Hotel GM, Miss Denise, but she was unavailable, and no manager ever got back to us. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, which was especially disappointing in such a beautiful city as Istanbul, Türkiye.

Şirin at reception was kind and helpful throughout our stay, and Omer helped us with the laundry service. The location of The Biancho Hotel was perfect, and we really enjoyed having a sea view room. The room itself was okay. The mini bar didn’t work, and breakfast was very disappointing: poor, tasteless, and served in small portions. Cleanliness could be better too. Even when we requested cleaning, it felt like things were just rearranged rather than properly cleaned. Thank you.
