The Hera Premium Hotels

My room was clean and the service was good. The location is excellent, close to the M4 metro, which offers very cheap transport to SAW airport. I checked in at 7PM, and my flight was delayed on the day I was due to check out. I asked for a late checkout as I usually do when traveling, but the hotel refused and charged me for every hour of delay.

These are the things I experienced during my two days at the hotel. I booked 11 nights, but cancelled after staying two, and the hotel charged a 500 lira fine. Breakfast was included in the advertised price, then removed once the booking sheet was issued. The room was dirty, with things left by previous guests, as if it hadn’t been cleaned or vacuumed. The hot water was shut off at night, so we couldn’t bathe. There were three of us, but we had only two blankets and one glass, with no other dishes, spoons, or forks. I went to reception four times, but was told they had no extra blankets, glasses, or dishes. The bathroom drain was blocked, leaving water to pool. There weren’t any active supermarkets within a kilometer of the hotel, despite what the map showed. This is not a four-star hotel.

The broken shower head took until the third day to get fixed, even though we asked several times. The room doors were in poor condition too. Room service was terrible: the room wasn’t cleaned every day as it should have been, and even when we requested cleaning, it wasn’t done. They also didn’t provide basics such as toilet paper, shampoo, or body wash. On top of that, the language barrier made everything difficult because they didn’t speak English. I didn’t like this hotel at all and wouldn’t recommend it.

I’m from Germany, and this turned into a nightmare in Istanbul. We were shown four rooms, all with dirty toilets, and then had to find another hotel at double the price. The rooms were dirty with traces left by previous guests. I’ve started legal proceedings and a chargeback, because the hotel kept my money without providing a service. Please don’t book here.
