The Port Hotel

The position is the only thing I'd recommend. It's excellent, near the parking lot and close to the bazaar. The receptionists are okay to deal with, and the WiFi is good, but the room was disgusting and very dirty. If you leave the window open, a horrible smell comes in, and you risk having a rat come over to you. I wouldn't recommend breakfast either. I saw them take food from a plate other people had left and put it with the food from the kitchen. They really need to work on cleanliness.

At 1 am I was outside the hotel on the pedestrian walkway trying to call an Uber, but my 3G was so slow. I asked a hotel employee for the WiFi password and he said it was for customers only. Fair enough. A couple of minutes later he told me to get off the walkway. I said it was public and I was using my phone right there, but after he kept complaining I moved two meters away. I spent another 15 minutes trying to get a car, then suddenly five Turkish policemen surrounded me. They searched my backpack, pockets, and body, and treated me like a criminal. I think they then told me to go home. They didn't speak English, but somehow I think they understood that the hotel employee had called the police for no reason and ruined a tourist's night when I hadn't done anything wrong. The people at this hotel are the opposite of the usual Turkish hospitality and a cancer for tourism in this city. I'm trying to find a way to make a formal complaint. I really can't accept what happened to me last night because of that hotel.

The beds were okay, and breakfast was okay too, but the bathroom wasn't great. The shower is small, probably uncomfortable for a bigger person, and the douche head wasn't clean. There are just two charging ports, one by the bed and one in the bathroom. There's no view. For nearly the same price, or maybe the same, I'd much rather stay at another place around the corner.

Lovely location and beautiful rooms, though they need a proper cleaning. Room service doesn't speak English, which makes it hard to explain what you need.
