CHECK inn Taichung Zhongshan

There's a luggage storage spot in the lobby right in front of the staff, so we felt it was safe to leave our bags there. Check-in since 2024 no longer includes disposable toiletries, so bring your own toothbrush, comb and hand soap. They do provide towels and a hairdryer, and there's a poya beauty across the street if you need those things. The rooms otherwise had no issues for us. We booked two rooms with two beds and one with a king bed. The two-bed rooms had no door separating the bathroom from the rest of the room, which was fine for our family trip but might feel awkward among friends. The king room was on the small side, so smaller luggage would be easier. Service at the counter was really great, and the staff were so friendly. Guests can also enjoy free tea and snacks during the 3:30-6:30 happy hour on the second floor.

The 4 pm check-in was the latest we'd had in Taiwan, which was tough with a small baby. Still, we loved our stay: the rooms were roomy and well appointed, and there was lots of great food and coffee within walking distance.

The room was clean, and guests could use the free lounge on the second floor. Staff were really friendly and helpful. For what we paid, everything felt just right. We'd definitely come back.

From the quiet room and comfortable bed to the powerful shower, we had a good stay in Taichung. The room was thoughtfully designed with good lighting, and the basic lounge area had free water refills. It's an easy walk to the lively YiZhong night market, the main train station and several nice scenic spots. Highly recommended.
