The room I was given, 5015, was so cramped that there was no way to reach the bed and nightstand from the window side. I travel a lot, across about 110 countries, and have never run into a room arranged like this. The hotel wasn't fully booked when I checked in on 2/26/2026, so assigning this room to a guest felt like a disservice. I booked through American Express Platinum travel and have usually had good experiences with Amex. This stay was a disaster. I'll contact Amex to ask them to replace this hotel with another one in the area from their travel service.

A small note for anyone booking: there are several Tango Inns in the same general area, so double-check the name and address. We had a lovely stay at The Tango Inn Zhongshan. It’s in a quiet but central part of Taipei, with Family Mart and 7-Eleven right on the corner. Staff greeted us whenever we came and went, and the price felt fair for the quality, especially for a longer stay. The thoughtful details made a difference: roomy bathroom counters, free laundry and detergent, and TV remote controls for turning off the lights. The room toggles also let you set privacy or housekeeping preferences. I’m not a Chinese speaker, so I needed Google Translate to figure out the climate controls, but that was a very minor issue. After checkout, they quickly contacted us about a coat we’d left behind and arranged shipment. They were responsive over email, which I appreciated. We loved Taipei, and the hotel was a big part of a wonderful trip to the island. Thank you!!

The staff were warm and ready to help, and the room price seemed reasonable for how central and comfortable the hotel is. Tango Inn Taipei ZhongShan is a convenient base for a Taipei visit. We found plenty of restaurants within walking distance, with both local and international food. Two convenience stores are directly in front and open around the clock. Zhongshan MRT Station (Zhongshan Station) is a short walk away, and the two Mitsukoshi department stores are right outside the station.

We spent our first night in Taipei here and liked how walkable the area was, especially with Ningxia Night Market so close. No complaints. I’d recommend it and would stay again.

The rooms were comfortable and the prices felt fair, and the staff were welcoming. Tango Inn Taipei ZhongShan is an easy place to stay in central Taipei, with restaurants and 24-hour convenience stores nearby. Zhongshan MRT Station and the Mitsukoshi department stores are also just a short walk away.
