Dora Hotel

Pathetic service. They cancelled my confirmed booking when I arrived and gave no reason. They blamed some people at an Indian management company for the mistake, and had even changed the hotel name. Cheap, greedy people, nothing short of a cheat. A waste of time, just as other reviewers have said.

This hotel isn’t there, and it isn’t called the Dora. We booked two rooms for one night, then the booking was cancelled the day before. They said they’d send a refund, but I doubt it’ll arrive. This is a scam.

The place smelled awful and was filthy and dangerous. Our family weekend booking lasted only minutes in the room. The windows were covered in black mould, screws were missing from the bunk bed, and the wardrobe had neither a back nor a top, so it looked ready to fall over. It clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. When I complained, the hotel staff member wasn’t interested and didn’t offer another room. Customer service was appalling. They won’t refund us even though we didn’t stay. This place needs to be closed down.

The advertised free breakfast wasn’t available either. There was nobody around in the morning and no food, so the hotel felt completely unstaffed during my dad’s stay. He’d also been left waiting for several hours after a long trip because no one was there to check him in, despite the website saying the front desk is open 24 hours. Other guests had the same problem. Calling the booking service didn’t help. They said a check-in form had to be completed, but neither Dad nor I received it, even though they said they’d sent it. The poor communication and failure to meet basic expectations made this a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless its service and reliability improve significantly.
