David and the staff made us feel at home throughout our stay at the Herrislea House Hotel. They were kind and attentive, and did more than expected to make us welcome. My husband and I had a fabulous time on Shetland, and staying there made it even better. I’m very happy to recommend the Herrislea when you’re in Shetland.

The owners kindly kept all our luggage while we arranged our more permanent cottage for the week. My cousin and Aunt stayed here, and we were pleased with the food, rooms, staff, and lovely setting. Many thanks.

The room was very clean and had everything we needed, and the staff took such good care of us. For places to see, Mousa Island’s beautiful beaches, Sumburgh Head, St Ninian’s beach, and Jarlshoff are all really worth a visit.

The place was nice enough, and though our room was marked as very small, it worked for us. I found the food mediocre, speaking as an American. It could be hard to find a staff member when we needed our keys back, so I’d ask at check-in what to do if that happens.

You feel welcome as soon as you arrive at this fabulous little hotel. The views are super, and I can imagine it must be amazing to stay here after a stormy day on Shetland. Great views.
