Blervie House

What made this visit stand out most for us was talking with Graham and Sheena. They have great stories and seem to know how to live life well. The grounds were lovely for a lively walk, and Forres nearby was the best village in the region. Inside, the oversized rooms felt warm, while the luxurious common areas gave us a Highland royalty kind of mood. We shared stories over a dram at the end of the day, then had a group breakfast around the long table with excellent food. The Bernie House and its hosts gave our group a spectacular, quintessential Scottish experience.

We’re hoping to return to Blervie House soon. My brother and I loved staying at this beautiful heritage property, and Sheena and Graham were warm, generous hosts. Graham is a great storyteller, and we had plenty of hearty laughs with him. He also suggested a scenic driving route for our onward journey, which made for one of our favorite days riding. He was thoughtful throughout.

After some thirty years of traveling, Blervie House is the best B&B we’ve stayed in. The place feels welcoming throughout, with beautifully restored and furnished rooms, comfortable beds, meticulous service and breakfasts that were a perfect start to the day. Graham and Sheena seemed to anticipate what we needed, including useful advice about places to visit and how to get there. We were especially interested in Graham’s account of the renovations, which took environmental sustainability and historic preservation into consideration. The grounds and riding and walking trail are well kept and soothing. For once, there were no motor sounds, just birds, sheep and wind in the trees. Blervie House was a special experience for us.

We’d love to come back to Blervie House. Graham and Sheena were wonderful hosts, breakfast was delicious, and there were lots of places to relax around the house. It was just the right spot for a couple of days on our Scotland vacation.
