The gym and spa day were highlights, and I couldn't fault either. The staff there were really helpful. It was also lovely and quiet at night, and the people and staff in the area were polite and nice. Still, I wouldn't rush to spend over £400 for two days here again. I paid that much hoping for three times the experience of an £80 dog-friendly Travel Lodge, and didn't get it. For me, the quiet and clientele might account for double the price, but not more. If I were a golfer, I might feel differently. With a dog, I don't go abroad, and for around that price I could have a self-catering holiday abroad, albeit just for one. We stayed two days with the spa treatment and brought our dog. The room was nice, though it didn't have the wow factor I wanted. The foyer and indoor spaces are small, and the lift is tiny. I wonder how it would manage when full. At night, there aren't really any nice dog walks unless you cross the road, and the golf course isn't an option, so choices are limited. Food and drinks cost a lot for the portion sizes. I don't eat fish, so the menu felt limited, though what I chose tasted nice. The next day I went to a local pub for half the price.

We had a lovely time on the terrace with drinks afterwards, and my nephew really enjoyed the driving range. He often likes a round on the course too. Our family dinner at the gailes was nice, with a lovely restaurant setting. I had the steak frites medium rare, just right, and the house peppercorn sauce was very good. We'll be back soon.

A difficult time was made a little nicer by how caring and attentive the staff were. We held a funeral tea at Gailes for a small group of family and friends in a private space. The tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake were fresh and tasty, and there were regular top-ups. It was a perfect venue. Thanks so much, guys. Very impressed, Richie.

The Thermal Spa was such a lovely experience during our overnight stay. Dinner was delicious, and the restaurant team were attentive, going above and beyond. Service was 5 star. The food was tasty, and that new sharing bread and butter is delicious, definitely a must-have.

We had a lovely day and night away and would definitely return. The room was clean and lovely, with a very comfortable, generously sized bed. It got warm overnight, so we opened the window. It creaked quite a bit while open, but I still slept OK. There were tea and coffee facilities, plus a bottle of prosecco. Check-in was easy and the staff explained everything. We booked our restaurant times for dinner and breakfast there. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the restaurant staff were welcoming and attentive. There was a mix-up with the dinner bill, but once we explained we'd booked the dinner, bed and breakfast deal, it was sorted quickly with no issue. We booked the dinner, bed and breakfast deal and added a 25-minute spa treatment. The spa was beautiful, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The Thermal Suite was fairly busy, but still calm, and we got to use all the facilities. The spa lounge was ace, and we loved having the outdoor spa deck to ourselves for about an hour. The hot tub was brilliant, and the cocktails were delicious. We both had scalp massages, and the therapists were friendly, attentive and brilliant. It was bliss. Afterward, the relaxation room was a lovely extra, with herbal teas and water included. We rested there for a while, then went back to the outdoor deck before our room was ready at 3pm.
