London Star Hotel

The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and warm, and the bed was comfortable. For what we paid, it was a good-sized room in a handy location, with a tube journey of about 30-45 minutes into London. Some bits looked tired, like marks on the bathroom ceiling and curtains coming off their rail, but they didn’t affect our stay. I’d worried about noise, though we were so tired we slept through anything there might have been. I was impressed and would stay again.

The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff helped us sort out the heat when it got a bit too warm. The mirror light in the bathroom can’t be switched off, which was inconvenient at night. Still, a very good choice.

Under the hotel there’s a shisha lounge, and you can hear the noise and smell it late into the evening. Our room also smelled of eggs and shisha, and there was mould in the bathroom ceiling corners. We stayed for five days with a friend. At first glance the place looked clean and nice, but the room was a different story. When we left, they wouldn’t return the copy of my passport and gave no real reason. We raised these problems and they didn’t care, just looked at us as if we were stupid.

A great find for a short stay in West London. The room’s finish and quality were excellent for such a competitive price, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I’d highly recommend it.
