The rooms have what you need: a comfortable bed, good sheets and towels, and an excellent powerful shower. It’s not especially pretty, but this is a brilliant little budget hotel. The staff are all lovely, especially Joy, the manager on reception. There’s lots of parking and plenty to do in the area, including good pubs and restaurants. Highly recommend.

We’ve been coming to this hotel about six times a year for around four years, and we love it. The staff have always been excellent and polite, and we’ve never had an issue. It’s handy having the pub next door for food, there are lots of shops nearby, and the hotel has its own car park. What more do you want?

The hotel kept our money, offered no refund, and left the guests who couldn’t sleep to suffer. We won’t be back. The attitude felt like “tough.” Music and singing from another room started before 10pm and carried on. After 1am, we called reception four times, but nobody answered. If we hadn’t had a drink, we would have left then and there, but obviously we couldn’t drive. The hotel should have given the room’s occupants 30 minutes to quiet down, then thrown them out if they ignored that. They should also have told them their credit card would be charged for every guest the hotel had to refund.

My relative booked a room with a double bed and a single bed, but they weren’t allowed to have three adults sleep there. They had to book another room on the day, at almost £60 per night. I’d advise the hotel owners not to put a single and double bed in a room if three adults aren’t allowed to stay there. I’d call that false advertising.

The man at reception was very nice and understanding, and I can’t fault him. The hotel itself was awful, old and in need of a revamp, with a horrible mouldy smell. We’d booked for one night, but loud music from the pub next door and stains on the bedsheet made us leave the room and hand back the key. Awful hotel.
