OYO Devine Beach Hotel, Westcliff Southend-On-Sea

The Wi-Fi was very good and easy to connect to, and the booking was very cheap. But I won't stay here again. It was noisy overnight because people live there, not just guests. I booked because the hotel is conveniently next to the train station. On arrival, I couldn't get into the building and had to call the person on duty to let me in. It seemed I'd been given the wrong access code. Then I couldn't get into my room either. I had to get another new code, was let in, and sent yet another code. I'm not sure this is the way ahead.

The location made getting around easy, with Westcliff station and the seafront both close by. I had a smooth check-in, and my clean room had loads of storage and everything I needed. The shared bathroom was spacious, and the room door had a handy locking system. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back. Great value too 😊 Thanks for having me!

The room I had booked was changed the night before I arrived. I ended up on the second floor in a much cheaper room, with no sink in the toilet, cold showers and a broken hair dryer. The place felt cramped and noisy. The service was very poor for what I paid, and I wouldn't recommend staying here or come back.

The location is good, and the room was fine for a short stay despite looking a bit dated. I could've used another pillow, and the bathroom door was difficult to slide shut because it had no handle on the inside. The toilet handle was awkward to use too, since it was positioned wrong. For the price, though, the place is passable. Getting the codes was stressful because I got them on the day while travelling, and having to put my bank card in three times for verification made me a little uneasy.
