Tower House 1066

There was no hot water during our one night stay. The room was dirty, with food scraps and dead bugs on the floor, and the bed and pillows need replacing because we could feel the springs. No meals or breakfast were provided, despite the ad saying they were. Wouldn’t recommend.

The breakfast was good value and made with good produce, and the staff were friendly with great service. The room was comfortable, though the pillows need replacing. This is a lovely B&B for the money, but it isn’t a five star hotel. It could use more attention to detailed cleaning and making sure everything works. There was a missing light bulb, and some areas needed dusting. The website should be updated too. Some photos and information are out of date and misleading: it lists breakfast at £8.50, but the actual price is £11.

At 4am, staff came into my room without saying anything until I woke and confronted them. They woke my wife and child, and we argued back and forth. I still don’t know why they entered. The whole thing was very creepy. Afterward, they blamed me for not locking the door, but that doesn’t give staff permission to come in at 4am. They never apologised or refunded me, even though my family and I stayed awake all night worrying about this invasion of privacy. Completely unacceptable. Avoid this hotel.

We had a twin room with a bathroom and a nice bath. It had one single bed and a sizeable queen sized bed, and was clean with all the amenities we needed. Breakfast costs a little extra, with three menu choices plus coffee, tea, cereal, juice and toast. It was well cooked and a perfect start to the day. The hotel is in a quiet part of St. Leonards, but still within walking distance of the seafront and the main attractions in St. Leonards and Hastings. Staff were very friendly and the service was perfect throughout. I’ve just had a relaxing stay and will definitely be back in the near future.
