My husband came from Liverpool and I travelled from Cornwall to meet for two nights at the hotel. At dinner, Samantha greeted us and went out of her way to make sure we had a lovely experience. She was friendly and so helpful, a real star. The displays, food, and ambiance were lovely. Thank you for a great stay.

We were enjoying our meal when the waitress cleaned the table beside us and sprayed cleaner in our direction. It got over my four-year-old’s food, so we left it and told the manager.

Enjoyed a lovely meal tonight. It was nice and cool inside, the service was speedy, and the staff were friendly.

My mates have been laughing about it all weekend, but being served what might be the worst breakfast sandwich ever was no joke. The coffee was like dishwater too. I paid £7.25 at the Spread Eagle for two slices of dirty bread and a badly cut, badly overcooked sausage, with an egg plonked on after the sandwich had already been cut. Just baffling. When I complained, a staff member laughed, and the manager said, “Well, that's what you ordered so that's what you get.” They offered me some continental breakfast, but a croissant and an orange aren’t worth £7.25 in London, let alone at The A5 island at Gailey. What was the chef thinking? See the picture. Might just be the worst breakfast ever.

We’ve stayed at the inn twice recently and went to the carvery on both visits. They have plenty of classic vegetables and sauces you can help yourself to, plus a good selection of meats. The gammon was my favourite, it just melted in my mouth. There’s a large outdoor area with a playground for children. Staff were friendly, parking was plentiful, and the prices reasonable.
