I found it quiet and comfortable, with a clean room at the front of the house. There were hot drinks, excellent Wi-Fi, a TV and a bath/shower with plenty of hot water. The host was very polite and welcoming, and showed me to my first-floor room. There's a theme to this charming hotel, with old items dotted around the hall, so look out for the Knight. Parking is free with plenty of spaces, and I caught a bus from around the corner into Wolverhampton centre, about 10 minutes away. Breakfast is available, but the chef was ill during my stay, which I didn't mind.

The mattress was awful, and I couldn't use the bath or shower because boiling hot water came out of both the hot and cold taps. The room wasn't much better than the run-down outside, which looked shut from the front even though it was open. The hallways stank of pee, weed and stale smoke. Carpets need cleaning and the cobwebs need dusting away. Don't be fooled by the pictures. Spend your money elsewhere.

The staff are what made the stay worthwhile. The guys running things day to day are amazing and kind, and they'll do their best to handle whatever you ask. The hotel itself was very good and met my expectations. Definitely recommend!

The staff were all lovely, and the room was spacious and comfortable with great views. I loved the décor and the delicious, authentic English meals. It's a beautiful old building in a quaint, quiet and safe area, with easy access to local spots. This felt like the quintessential English hotel. I'd encourage anyone passing through to stay a few nights. 10/10.

Room #7 upstairs was roomy enough, quiet, clean and comfortable, with a nice view and plenty of natural light. The bathroom was spacious, with a full tub, adjustable hand shower and hot water. There was a kettle, standard coffee and tea, plus hot cocoa for about four mugs. The silverware and ceramics were clean. Check-in was easy, and checkout was just dropping off the keys. There's a toilet room beside reception if needed. The charming old building has artifacts in the halls and on the walls, and there's lots of free secure parking. It's an easy walk to groceries and town, and breakfast is an option. I stayed 3 nights in early-September 2025. A couple of downsides: the larger bath towel smelled when wet, though the hand towel was clean, and there was no towel rack or USB port. There was no daily service either, which could be a plus or minus depending on the length of the stay.
