ARRIVE Austin

The room was gorgeous, clean, and tastefully decorated. On the room alone, I’d give it 4.5 stars. But I stayed four nights with Arrive, and several other things fell short. My room never connected to WiFi, even after I tried three devices, though it worked elsewhere in the hotel. Housekeeping did a good job on the first day, then mostly just replaced towels without making the bed or doing the rest. I’d asked for daily service at check-in, and even after Christmas had passed, it still wasn’t right. The location is noisy, and the balcony sliding door seemed poorly insulated. I’m a heavy sleeper, but cars and sirens woke me every couple of hours. One receptionist, who I think was named Ava, was wonderful and very accommodating. There’s a lot of potential here, but the other accommodations didn’t match the room or nearby hotels, and I left disappointed.

East Austin is right outside the door, with good food, coffee, and local places just steps away. Inside, ARRIVE Austin has a modern but cozy feel, with thoughtful design throughout. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well laid out, and the staff were friendly and happy to help. It felt relaxed and personal, whether you’re there for a weekend or a longer stay. I’d absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Austin.

The location is great, though staying here comes with some trade-offs. Even on the “quiet side,” as the front desk called it, I needed the earplugs because of the nearby bars. I can only imagine how loud the “loud side” gets. If noise makes it hard for you to sleep, I wouldn’t recommend it. The rooms have tall ceilings and windows and feel nice, but amenities are sparse: no in-room microwave or coffee, and there’s no gym in the building.

Our room on the fourth floor was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was large and nicely equipped. The hotel looks beautiful, but the music and bass from the venue downstairs were so loud that we couldn’t sleep before 1 a.m. either night. It felt like being inside a nightclub. We used vouchers for two free drinks at Kalimotxo, the bar and restaurant on site, but both the drinks and dinner were poor and disappointing. At checkout I raised the noise problem, and the front desk agent gave a generic apology that made it seem like a known issue they accept and can’t address. For the price, I expected to sleep better and to see more concern from the staff.
