The location was great, with a nice neighborhood and easy access to different areas, restaurants, shops, and the airport. The host was friendly, the house was very clean, and the rules were clearly explained and seemed reasonable. There were thoughtful extras in the room, like a couple of shampoo choices, a granola bar, and bottled water. It was my first homestay, so I was a little nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised and had no issues. We were out most of the time, so the room was more than enough for sleeping and showering. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in, and the host let us wait in the living room while the bedroom was being cleaned. I was very pleased with the stay.

We couldn't find parking, and when we tried to go inside, the host was there and made me feel very uncomfortable. He wasn't helpful at all. I didn't stay even one night, but he still wouldn't give me my money back. I got silenced on my last review for telling the truth. This host is downright disrespectful. Don't stay here, save your money.

I no longer felt safe staying at Homestay BnB Near Boston after what happened, and told Expedia I wouldn't stay there even if I got no money back. They took my complaint seriously and gave me a full refund. I've booked flights, hotels, and car rentals through Expedia for over 15 years without anything like this happening before. I appreciate their support and professionalism. I'd booked two consecutive reservations in January through Expedia for May 29, 2025, when I planned to attend my son's graduation, a once-in-a-lifetime family milestone. The total was $405.49, and I knew Boston would be busy during college graduation season. On May 20, after the cancellation deadline had passed, the owner called unexpectedly and demanded I cancel. I hadn't asked to cancel. I was driving and asked him to call back. When I returned the call, he said the bookings were at two different nearby properties, which I told him wasn't a problem. He grew increasingly aggressive, rude, and controlling instead of resolving anything. He told me to leave a 5-star review, then ask Expedia for a refund, and said he might cooperate after that. It was clear he was saying no review meant no refund, and demanding that I lie in my review to get my money back. His tone was threatening and derogatory. I'd never been spoken to like that in the travel industry. I stayed calm and polite, but the verbal abuse was alarming. Afterward, I saw that his rooms were sold out. That confirmed my suspicion that he was trying to make me cancel so he could rebook at a higher rate because of demand. His behavior was manipulative, unethical, and abusive. I don't think he should be allowed to list on Expedia or another platform. I'm sharing this so others don't go through the same thing. Avoid this property at all costs.

I lost the money before even staying there, and the host offered no support. I booked through my travel agency, expecting it to go smoothly. Two days before the cancellation deadline, I received an email with the full terms and conditions and learned that children under 5 aren't allowed. My daughter is 3, so the reservation wasn't valid from the beginning. I contacted the owner right away to explain and ask for a solution, but got no response. Expedia wouldn't help because the cancellation deadline had just passed, and my travel agency couldn't do anything under Expedia's rules either. It was a frustrating, disappointing experience.

This place is a sham. I only stayed one night, paid over a hundred bucks, and ended up in the attic. Nobody stays here. Someone turned off the TV, probably because people are sleeping in the rooms, watching like “barbarian”.
