The Bergson, BW Signature Collection

We visited Calistoga at the start of the Winter Wine Pass and stayed at the Bergson. It was such a lovely, peaceful place. Our room was spacious and fabulous, with a beautiful fireplace and balcony looking out over the fountain. Since reception is small, they bring the continental breakfast to your room in a charming basket at the time you choose. We tried nearly all the options, and everything was delicious. There are tables and chairs outside too, which would be lovely for a leisurely breakfast in spring or summer. The Bergson is an easy walk from downtown, so we didn't need to find parking. It's right beside Tank Garage Winery and provides complimentary passes. The staff were extremely helpful. I'd gladly recommend it and plan to return.

I've stayed at the Bergson twice, and both times had a Jacuzzi tub that worked great. The rooms are large, and the front desk staff are welcoming and kind. The beds are a little firmer than I prefer, but they're much softer than the extra-hard ones at chain hotels, so if you have trouble with those like I do, these should be fine. Fill out their form and they'll bring free breakfast in the morning. Coffee is the only thing they charge for, though there's free coffee by the front check-in area. I like treating myself, so I order it anyway.

A handsome little courtyard hotel, with comfortable rooms and surprisingly little noise despite being next to busy Highway 29. Many of Calistoga's attractions are just around the corner and an easy walk away. I'd stay here again.

I didn't stay at this property because I accidentally booked it thinking it was the other Calistoga Best Western. I explained the mix-up to management, and they sorted it out even though they weren't required to. This was an anniversary trip, and we wanted more amenities than the Bergson offers. Still, it looks like a lovely boutique place if you aren't looking for a pool, spa, sauna, and similar facilities.
