Sea Sprite on the Estuary

My boyfriend and I picked this place for a quiet weekend, and it was just what we wanted. The views were amazing, it felt cozy, and the beach was easy to get to. We’d happily stay again.

Kathleen was working during our stay and was so kind. She went out of her way to keep us informed about check-in and check-out. We stayed in Puffin #23 in late August, and the beach and ocean views were spectacular. We could even see elk grazing near the water from the parking lot. Public Coast Brewing and Elk Creek Coffee shop are just around the corner, and both were wonderful. It’s a short walk down the beach to see Haystack. We had beach campfires each night, using the blankets and lawn chairs Sea Sprite made available in the building. The washer and dryer in the hall outside our unit were handy, and eco friendly detergent was provided. Thanks for a memorable first stay in Cannon Beach. We’d come back.

We came back for our 10 year anniversary and had another magical visit. The room was tidepool room#21, and walking in to that beach view with all the natural sunlight was wonderful. It was very clean and had what we needed. The bed was a little uncomfortable for us, though we’re picky about beds. Everything else was so good that I’d return in a heartbeat. The location is great, and maybe next time we’ll bring the kids. The service was a big part of the stay. Beforehand, they called with information and asked if we were celebrating anything. I appreciated the emails with room details, tide tables, and dining options. They left a lovely card congratulating us on ten years and even called briefly to check that we had everything we needed. Our first stay was about 11 years ago, the night my husband proposed. It was magical then too, and the staff had put roses and wine in our room.

Room 21 was immaculate and extremely well maintained. You step right onto the beach where the estuary meets the ocean, and the views are stunning. The Sea Sprite’s location is one of its best features, with fantastic restaurants like Ecola Seafood within an easy walk. I highly recommend the Sea Sprite at the Estuary.
