Super 8 Canton/Livonia Area

My dad used to stay here whenever he was in town, and they once went above and beyond for him. He needs an accessible room, but now staff are rude and say they have one, then don't have it when he arrives. It's time to find another regular hotel. Maybe one day you'll get it right again.

If you're Black, they'll make you put down a deposit and put you in a room that's already damaged, so don't set yourself up to be framed. They check for legal issues and call the police on you. Some rooms are nice, others have minor damage, and some have no heat. If management doesn't like you or want you there, they'll put long-term residents above you and let them make noise, so just ask for the third floor. I asked to change rooms because of the noise, and the guy told me to check back in 30 minutes and called the cops on me. The management is petty and coordinates with police to frame people.

I've stayed here for several weeks and haven't had a bad or truly unpleasant experience. The staff are kind and capable, the rooms are clean and nice, and everything I might need to reach is within five miles.

For a two-star hotel, the rooms are decent, and it's close to the freeway. The first floor smells like spices, and there's no bench outside for people who want to smoke. Breakfast could be a lot better. They do have muffins and waffles, plus coffee, juice, and ice water, but there's no butter or spray for the waffle grill. I would have liked fruit like oranges, bagels with cream cheese, and cereal with milk. There's a McDonald's right next door and a couple of coney islands west of the hotel, including L Georgia's and Leo's coney islands. The manager or big boss should look into what a complimentary breakfast ought to include. Don't expect five-star service, but it's a decent place when you need a room.
