We spent a week here for our anniversary and loved the Cannonborough Suite, which was just right for a couple. The host was lovely and left complimentary snacks and wine in the room. When we asked for extra towels, she was quick to bring them. We spent a lot of time on the patio; it felt surprisingly private despite the nearby units. I’m not sure I’d have felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood at night, but having a car, local cabs, and Uber meant getting around was no problem. We’d definitely stay again.

Our 10 year old daughter had the best time when we took her to the Jonathan Jasper Wright Inn for her birthday. The place had all the amenities and necessities we needed for a nice Downtown Charleston stay. It’s about a quick .5 mi. walk or drive to cute shops and King Street, and 10-15 minutes to Sullivan's Island or Folly Beach. Details like the very comfortable sheets and pillows were great, and the cold coffee creamer in the fridge was my personal favorite. I’ve stayed in many hotels, Air BnB's, and other hosted places, and we were very pleased with the property, the host’s communication, and the stay. Thanks for a wonderful experience, we can’t wait to visit again!
The apartment was sparkling clean, and every detail looked lovely, from the furniture and artwork to the thoughtful coffee table books. We could have spent hours on the porch in the warm breeze. Although it’s near the main road, we didn’t notice any noise. The neighborhood is great for a stroll, with several places to eat and drink just minutes away and the main strip about a 15 minute walk. We didn’t need a car, and it was nice to come back here after the busier areas. Our stay at the JJW Inn was perfect.
For our honeymoon, my new wife and I spent a week at JJW in suite B, which gave us a full apartment and made Charleston feel like home. The stay was easy and relaxing, in large part thanks to the place. It was clean and fairly quiet, with clean linens, complete facilities, a soft comfortable bed, and a convenient location. The parking area is a little tight when other guests are there, though it’s manageable. There’s also some nighttime noise, but with the hospital and MUSC nearby, it seems like part of the neighborhood. Those are minor things, and I wouldn’t change anything. 5/5, we’ll stay again.
I was there with a friend for a girls trip, and the place was incredible for what we paid. The robes, snacks, comfortable bed and cozy sheets were all great, and the decor was beautiful. They’ve clearly thought through the small details, and it went well beyond what I expected. I’m usually hard to please, too. The location isn’t the best, though it’s walkable during the day. Even using Ubers whenever we wanted, we still saved a lot of money.
