Mt. Philo Inn

We held our intimate, low-key wedding at Mt Philo Inn, renting the whole property for the weekend. It was wonderful having all our favorite people under one roof. We married at Mt Philo State Park, then had the reception on the lawn before the rain moved us into the Ballroom. Dave communicated clearly when he had concerns about noise, which I appreciated. The Inn is beautifully renovated, and the care shows in the details, from the furniture to the appliances. Dave was thoughtful and kind, and talked through our plans with us. He also gave us great local catering and restaurant recommendations. By the end of the weekend he felt like more than a stranger, and hugged us and congratulated us on our marriage. We’ll return to Mt Philo Inn for an anniversary celebration.

The Left Wing was just as wonderful as our first stay in the West Wing. That first suite was more space than two people needed, but it was the only unit available, and I loved it: beautiful, easy parking, breakfast food in the fridge, and a path to the mountain right out the back door. After being unhappy at one or two other places around Charlotte/Burlington, I won’t stay anywhere else now. Dave, the innkeeper, was there both times we needed him. He was available 24/7, probably not literally, but he responded right away. Check-in and check-out were easy and relaxed. I can’t say enough good things about the Inn. R.B. Florida

The West Wing’s design, cleanliness, views, and location near farms and Burlington all made this such a great place. The owner and the setup were part of it too. It felt very Vermont, and I didn’t want to leave. This was our first vacation with our 8 month little girl, and she loved it. We hope to come back and make it a family tradition. I’m usually very critical of hotels because I work in the industry, and I rarely write reviews. This is only my second one, but the experience was worth sharing.

The West Wing comfortably housed eight of us, with more people coming by during the day for festivities. The kitchen was very well stocked, and David and Jane were quick to respond and had a great sense of humor. They really have Inn-Keeping down to a science. I highly recommend Mty. Philo Inn for a comfortable stay near many good parts of VT.
