Wingate By Wyndham Chattanooga Hotel

The breakfast had plenty of choices and was great, and checkout at noon was convenient. Staff were courteous, and there was plenty of hot water. The place was decent overall, though the room had no soap and no bathroom fan to clear the smell. The pillows were the smallest I’ve ever seen in a hotel, lol. The fitness center was a joke, especially for someone like me who works out four days a week.

We spent five nights here, and it met our needs well. The king room was clean and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed, though the pillows were small. The bathroom was compact but clean and adequate. The refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave were standard hotel size. There was an odor at first, but it cleared. We only tried the breakfast and coffee once because neither was very good. All in all, a good stay, and I’d come back.

The bed was the best part of the room. We chose this Wyndham for its reputation and reasonable price while driving from Florida back home to Ohio, and had booked a couple of days ahead. I checked the bed for bugs with my phone flashlight and that was okay, but the rest of the hotel badly needs an overhaul. The remote was sticky, the furniture was old, and there was what looked like spilled coffee on the wall that hadn’t been cleaned. Calling it in need of a deep clean is putting it mildly. There was clearly mold above the window, and I woke up hacking and sneezing. We could hear people upstairs every time they flushed or turned on the shower. I looked for cameras in the hallways and didn’t see any. They posted only two of the six photos I uploaded because the others were gross. The maids don’t seem to clean around the base of the toilet or behind the sink against the wall. They may claim the hotel is under renovation, but I saw no renovation work.

The rooms were clean enough and quite nice, and the location was convenient. Breakfast was a letdown when I went to make a plate: there were only bad eggs and bread, and it seemed they didn’t refill items as they ran low. Still, it’s a nice hotel.
