Motel 6 Cheyenne WY

I’m a Motel6 member, but after this stay I’m deleting my account. We were booked for three nights and needed an ADA room. First, the sheets had gray fluff all over them, but a fairly nice front desk worker apologized and brought a fresh set. Then my partner found the water wouldn’t warm up. The same worker said he’d seen a note about that after checking us in, and moved us to another room. The sheets there looked nasty, so we covered them and decided to wait until we got home to shower. The shower had no tub or raised edge, so water spread across the bathroom floor. After our first night, we spotted a bedbug on the pillow. My partner squished it before I could take a photo. I stripped the bed and found rat droppings between the sheet and mattress cover. Staff came to look, but said they couldn’t refund us without a picture. I gave up the last night and took the loss. We spent the day we’d planned to relax spraying for bedbugs and washing our clothes and blankets. The front desk workers were fairly nice, which is about the only positive I can offer. I’d have preferred a tent by the road.

My girlfriend and I rely on staff to respect our sleep schedule. I travel for DoorDash with my service dog and sleep only four to five hours a day. On the first day, a worker woke my girlfriend at 9:30, an hour and a half before checkout. I was assured it wouldn’t happen again, but the very same worker came to our door an hour before checkout the next day and woke her again. Management offered neither a refund nor a free day, though they wanted me to stay and pay and said the worker would be fired. We’d already paid for a stay where we didn’t get the respect we expected, so we packed and left. We won’t stay at Motel 6 again. The staff were disrespectful, and you shouldn’t expect respect here.

I booked Motel 6 so I’d have somewhere inexpensive to rest when I was exhausted on the road. Instead, the room and property were so filthy and unkempt that I thought about driving on despite being drowsy. The check-in woman was nice enough, but the sheets hadn’t been changed and there were chip crumbs in the bed. The towels hadn’t been replaced, the fridge had stains that looked like blood, perhaps from raw ground beef, and the floor was sticky and slimy. The TV picture was awful, the door looked as if it had been kicked in more than once, and the interior paint job was very poor. The shower curtain was hanging by three threads. There was broken glass outside, along with plastic bags blowing around that we jokingly named Katy, since she seemed to be a plastic bag in the wind. I didn’t ask for a refund or complain to the office, because I was already blaming myself for booking. I felt foolish and ripped off. I’ll never book a Motel 6 again and will recommend anything else. Please shut this place down.

The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly. We got a good deal and had a tub, but the bathroom light was out and there wasn’t a plug for the tub.
